    Resposta: May be a silly thing to say, but have you removed the lens cap on the telescope itself. It has a small cap for the eye piece, and then a double cap on the telescope. One that covers the whole lens and a removable centre piece. It's not ideal to use inside and may be worth taking it outside until you've got it working how you need.
