The grinder is missing a soft start and an additional small motor just to power the fan for a variable speed grinder. The good thing is that the protection systems built into the tool are effective in protecting both the user and the tool - it stops rapidly when releasing the trigger, stops instantly if the attachment gets bound up, and shuts the tool off if it overheats before damage can be done. The grinder has a 5/8 -11 spindle and thread, is compatible with 5" diameter x 1/4" thick grinding wheels and has a variable speed ranging from 1-2200 RPMs. It also features a type 1 blade guard in the package and allows for the handle to be attached to either side of the gear case to accommodate left or right-handed users.
