What is Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease used for?

Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease is primarily used for lubricating and protecting various mechanical components from moisture and corrosion. This grease is ideal for outdoor applications where exposure to water or humidity is a concern, such as on boat trailers, automotive parts, and machinery. By creating a waterproof barrier, it ensures smooth operation and longevity of equipment in harsh environments.

How does Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease provide protection against corrosion?

This grease contains special additives that prevent the formation of rust and other forms of corrosion. When applied, it forms a thick, protective layer that shields metal surfaces from moisture, salty air, and other elements that can lead to degradation. This is especially beneficial for marine and automotive applications, prolonging the life of parts exposed to potentially corrosive conditions.

Can Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease be used on all types of surfaces?

While Waxman 7118500 is versatile, it is best suited for metal-on-metal applications. It effectively lubricates bearings, hinges, and cables. However, avoid using it on certain plastics that may react with petroleum-based products. Always check compatibility with materials before application to ensure optimal performance without damage.

Is Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease safe to use in high-temperature environments?

Yes, Waxman 7118500 is designed to withstand moderate to high temperatures without losing its lubricating properties. It's suitable for automotive applications where heat buildup occurs, such as in wheel bearings and engine components. The grease maintains consistency and effectiveness even when exposed to heat, giving you reliable performance in demanding conditions.

How should I apply Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease?

For optimal results, apply Waxman 7118500 with a clean brush or grease gun. Ensure that surfaces are clean and free of old grease or debris before application. A thin, even layer is usually sufficient to achieve maximum protection and lubrication. Regular maintenance and reapplication may be necessary in high-use areas to maintain effectiveness.

Will Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease affect rubber seals?

Waxman 7118500 is generally safe for use around rubber seals, as it doesn't usually cause deterioration or swelling. However, it's essential to test a small area first on sensitive materials to ensure compatibility. When properly applied, this grease helps create a sealing effect that can enhance the performance of components and protect against moisture ingress.

Can I use Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease for fishing tackle?

Absolutely! Waxman 7118500 is ideal for lubricating fishing reels and other tackle components exposed to water. Its waterproof properties help prevent rust and corrosion, ensuring that your gear remains in peak condition for longer. Just be sure to clean the tackle from any excess grease to avoid attracting dirt and debris.

What are some common applications for Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease?

Waxman 7118500 is suitable for a variety of applications including automotive maintenance, marine equipment, garden tools, and outdoor machinery. It's also effectively used in industrial settings where equipment is subject to moisture. The versatility of this waterproof grease makes it a go-to solution for countless users looking to enhance the performance and longevity of their tools and machinery.

Is Waxman 7118500 Waterproof Grease compatible with other lubricants?

It is advisable to avoid mixing different types of lubricants, as they may not be compatible and can reduce performance. If you have existing lubricants in your equipment, it is best to clean thoroughly before applying Waxman 7118500. This ensures that you maximize the benefits of its waterproof properties and corrosion resistance.
