This editorial review is for Volume 1 of Yu Yu Hakusho. The story follows a 14-year-old boy named Yusuke who dies saving a little boy's life. He is given a task to complete by the pilot of the River Styx and Prince Koenma to return to life. The storyline is excellent, but the anime version is better than the manga version. There were some missing scenes that didn't show up in the action anime. Yusuke's character is more of a punk in the book, whereas in the anime, he is more likable. Keiko, Yusuke's childhood friend, is shown to be stronger in the book, and in the anime, she only slaps Yusuke. It is suggested to watch the complete four seasons series before reading the manga. The review also recommends comparing the DVD series to the manga. The Funimation version of the series is dubbed into English, and it is great for people who do not understand Japanese. The voice actors and actresses for every character in the Funimation version are terrific. The review gave Volume 1 of Yu Yu Hakusho five out of five stars, but the person liked the anime version better than the manga. Overall, this editorial review received mixed feedback from customers. Some customers liked the brand new book condition, and some complimented the exciting storyline. However, some complained about the warped and messed up spine, and some received the book with a big dent.
