What are the main features of the SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals?

The SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals feature a forged alloy body, which contributes to their lightweight yet robust design. The body is shot peened to enhance durability and is anodized for added protection against wear and corrosion. This combination makes them ideal for various riding conditions. Additionally, their platform design provides ample surface area for better grip and comfort during rides, making them suitable for mountain biking, BMX, or casual cycling.

How do the SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals improve grip?

The SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals are designed with strategically placed pins to maximize grip, ensuring your feet stay firmly planted even on rough terrains. The flat pedal design paired with the pedal surface features creates a non-slip experience. This is particularly beneficial during intense rides or technical maneuvers where foot stability is crucial. Riders often report enhanced control and confidence in challenging conditions, making these pedals a reliable choice for all skill levels.

Are the SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals suitable for all types of bicycles?

Yes, the SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals are versatile and can be fitted to most types of bicycles including mountain bikes, BMX bikes, and even urban commuter bikes. Their universal 9/16-inch thread size allows compatibility with a wide range of crank arms. This adaptability makes them a great option for cyclists who want a reliable pedal across various biking styles without needing multiple sets.

What materials are used in the SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals?

The SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals feature a forged alloy body, which is both lightweight and incredibly strong. This construction is further enhanced by the shot peening process, which helps to increase the pedals' durability. The addition of an anodized finish not only improves aesthetics but also provides a protective layer that resists scratches and damage, ensuring the pedals maintain their appearance and functionality after extensive use.

How do I install the SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals on my bike?

Installing the SPANK Spoon 100 Pedals is straightforward. Use a 15mm pedal wrench to attach them to the crank arms, ensuring the left pedal is threaded counterclockwise and the right pedal clockwise. Be sure to tighten them securely to avoid loosening during rides. This installation process is quick, making it easy for users to switch out pedals when necessary, whether for maintenance or upgrading to the Spoon 100.

What are the benefits of using flat pedals like the SPANK Spoon 100?

Flat pedals, such as the SPANK Spoon 100, allow for easy foot placement and removal, providing greater freedom of movement. This feature is particularly beneficial for new riders or those tackling technical trails, as it enables quick dismounts in challenging situations.
