What is the SREX-100 Active Focused Infrared Detector used for?

The SREX-100 Active Focused Infrared Detector is designed primarily for motion detection in security systems, automation, and energy management solutions. Utilizing infrared technology, it effectively senses body heat, allowing it to trigger alarms or initiate responses without interruption. This makes it ideal for home security systems, smart lighting control, and energy-efficient building management. For example, in a smart home setting, the SREX-100 can activate lights when it detects occupancy, contributing to both convenience and energy savings.

How does the SREX-100 detect motion?

The SREX-100 employs advanced infrared technology to detect motion by sensing changes in thermal energy. When a warm body, such as a person or animal, comes within its range, the detector registers this change and sends a signal to the connected system. It is effective in various lighting conditions, making it a versatile choice for multiple environments. For instance, in a commercial setting, it can help in managing occupancy levels by turning lights on or off automatically based on room usage.

What is the range of the SREX-100 Active Focused Infrared Detector?

The SREX-100 has an impressive detection range, typically extending up to 15 meters, depending on the installation environment. This range makes it suitable for both residential and commercial applications where extensive coverage is necessary. For example, in a large living room or an office space, the SREX-100 can effectively cover the entire area, ensuring safety and automation without dead spots. Proper installation is key to maximizing its capabilities.

Can the SREX-100 be integrated with smart home systems?

Yes, the SREX-100 is designed for seamless integration with various smart home systems and automation platforms. This compatibility allows users to incorporate the device into their existing setups for enhanced security and convenience. Through smart home hubs, it can be programmed to trigger alarms, adjust lighting, or send notifications to users when motion is detected. For example, if integrated with a smart lighting system, it can automatically switch on lights when it senses movement.

Is the SREX-100 suitable for outdoor use?

The SREX-100 can be utilized outdoors; however, it is essential to ensure that it is installed in a sheltered location to protect it from harsh weather conditions. Its ability to detect motion in open spaces makes it an excellent choice for driveway or garden security when appropriately shielded. For enhanced performance, the detector should be positioned away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, which can interfere with its infrared sensing capabilities.

What kind of power source does the SREX-100 require?

The SREX-100 typically operates using standard AC power, ensuring a consistent and reliable performance. It may come with the necessary adapters for easy plug-in installation. Drawing power continuously allows it to maintain real-time monitoring, which is crucial for security systems where immediate detection and response are paramount. For users looking to minimize disruption, integrating it into an existing electrical system is often straightforward.

Does the SREX-100 have adjustable sensitivity settings?

Yes, the SREX-100 features adjustable sensitivity settings that allow users to fine-tune the detector according to their specific environment. This capability helps minimize false alarms caused by small animals or environmental fluctuations. For example, in residential applications, lowering sensitivity in areas prone to frequent pedestrian traffic can enhance accuracy while ensuring security. This customization makes the SREX-100 suitable for varied user needs and locations.

What type of alerts does the SREX-100 provide?

The SREX-100 can send various alerts, including motion detection notifications, which can be configured to notify users via connected systems, such as smartphones or alarm systems. These alerts ensure that users remain informed about any activities within monitored areas. In practical terms, this means if the detector senses motion while the homeowner is away, it can instantly send a notification, allowing for prompt action or monitoring through connected security cameras.

Can the SREX-100 be used in commercial applications?

Absolutely, the SREX-100 is an excellent option for commercial applications due to its reliable motion detection capabilities and integration features. Businesses can utilize it for security monitoring, automated lighting, and energy management solutions. For instance, in a retail store, the SREX-100 can automatically turn on lights when customers enter or alert staff of any unauthorized access during non-working hours, enhancing both security and customer experience.
