The pellets should be level throughout the dish, and the test should be left in place for 60 to 72 hours. The kit is suitable for exterior use, but there may be some false readings depending on rain and dew absorption. The kit is not for vertical surface testing as the cartridge won't sit properly. A standard moisture reader could be used for more accurate exterior testing. A scale is needed to weigh the cup with the calcium chloride in it before and after starting the test. As long as the scale goes down to 0.01g, it will work. The kit can be used to test one square foot of cleaned concrete, and it will provide moisture readings for 1000 sq ft of floor space of concrete. Overall, the kit is easy to use and provides accurate results. However, it is important to note that the kit cannot be used on vertical surfaces.
