    Resposta: You don't have to turn it off. It stops ringing after about 4 seconds. It's a great little visual timer.

    Resposta: The silicone case does not cover the ON/OFF alarm switch or the battery compartment. It is open in the back so you can access as necessary.

    Resposta: It is good to stand up and move around every 20 to 30 minutes. So you could set the timer for 20 to 30 minutes, and then set it again after he takes his break. It is an obvious solution, but it may be helpful to have a break built in. Of course, it is easy to reset whenever he takes a break. (I love that it makes no noise! It somehow encourages some internal quiet.)
