Comedy Editorial Review
The John Hughes Yearbook Collection offers a nostalgic trip back to the 80s with three classic movies: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Weird Science. While the collection is praised for its affordability and the fact that the digital codes still redeem in Movies Anywhere, there are mixed opinions on the movies themselves. For fans of 80s movies, this collection is a must-have. The two movies, Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club, are Considered classics and are seen as a reflection of teenage angst and societal values of that time. However, it's important to note that some jokes and lines may not resonate well with modern standards. On the other hand, Weird Science seems to be the weak link in the collection for some viewers. The sci-fi/fantasy premise and cheap, sophomoric humor are criticized for taking the movie over the top and turning it into a groaner. One reviewer specifically mentioned that this movie was a let-down. In terms of the physical product, there is a complaint about receiving a used item with damaged casing and scratched DVDs. However, this could be an isolated incident and not reflective of the product as a whole. Overall, the John Hughes Yearbook Collection offers a great value for 80s movie buffs, especially those who appreciate the nostalgia and cultural reflection. However, it may not be for everyone, particularly if Weird Science is not your cup of tea.
