Schluter Ditra heat mat is a genuine product and much cheaper than what the plumbing stores have. It is commonly used with warming systems cables and is very easy to use. To use the mat, one can cut the membrane to fit wherever it needs to go but must align the studs in the membrane to avoid trouble when running the heating cables. Ditra is 1/4" thick and one needs to overcome 1/2" or less in the targeted flooring. Users may need to use a layer of cement board and heavy on the mortar to level it off when using Ditra. Each sheet is approximately 8.3 square feet and 12 sheets will cover an 11 by 9 ft room. Customer experience and reception are generally positive. Users are happy with the product and find it easy to use. A negative review was retracted as the user did not know that the item was shipped with the shower kit. The product is appreciated for its cost-effectiveness and for the fact that it can be bought only in what is needed. A buyer used the mat by rolling it backward to reduce curls, and it worked great.
