What are Choice Skateboard 99a wheels best suited for?

Choice Skateboard 99a wheels are ideal for street and park skating due to their hardness, which provides excellent grip and speed. The 99a durometer rating indicates they offer a hard wheel that performs well on smooth surfaces. If you're looking to perform tricks or skate at high speeds, these wheels will enhance your performance. Many skaters prefer them for their ability to maintain control on ramps and in urban environments.

How do 99a wheels compare to softer wheels?

99a wheels are harder than softer wheels, typically ranging from 78a to 88a. This hardness allows for faster roll, making them suitable for technical tricks and smooth surfaces. However, they may not absorb impacts as well as softer wheels, which can be beneficial for rough environments or cruising. If you're skating in a park or on smooth pavement, 99a wheels will provide a responsive ride and optimal maneuverability.

Are Choice Skateboard 99a wheels durable?

Yes, Choice Skateboard 99a wheels are designed for durability, allowing them to withstand the wear and tear of street and park skating. Their construction using high-quality urethane ensures resistance to flat spots and abrasions, making them a great investment for serious skaters. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and rotating your wheels, can further enhance their longevity and overall performance.

Can I use 99a wheels for longboarding?

While 99a wheels can technically be used for longboarding, they are not the best choice for the activity. Longboarding generally benefits from softer wheels that provide better shock absorption and grip, especially on varied terrain. If you're primarily cruising or downhill riding, consider opting for softer wheels to ensure a smoother and more comfortable ride.

How do I install Choice Skateboard 99a wheels on my board?

To install Choice Skateboard 99a wheels, you’ll need a skate tool or wrench to remove your old wheels. Simply unscrew the nut from the axle, remove the old wheel, and slide on the new 99a wheel. Secure it with the nut and repeat for each wheel. This straightforward process allows you to customize your skateboard easily, enabling you to switch between different wheel types based on your skating needs.

What kind of bearings work best with 99a wheels?

For optimal performance with 99a wheels, it’s best to use high-quality skateboard bearings that are rated for speed and durability. Abec-rated bearings (like Abec 5 or Abec 7) are often recommended as they reduce friction and provide a smooth roll. This combination will enhance your overall skate experience, allowing for quicker speeds and easier maneuvering on various terrains.

Do 99a wheels work well for beginners?

While 99a wheels are suitable for street and park skating, beginners may find softer wheels more forgiving as they provide extra grip and shock absorption. However, if you're confident in your balance and looking to learn tricks or skate in a park, 99a wheels can be an excellent choice, enhancing your control and stability as you progress in your skills.

What colors are available for Choice Skateboard 99a wheels?

Choice Skateboard 99a wheels typically come in a variety of colors to match your personal style or skateboard design. You can commonly find options like black, white, red, blue, and green. This variety allows skaters to express themselves through customized setups, making it easier to coordinate with their skateboard decks and other accessories.

How do I maintain my Choice Skateboard 99a wheels?

Maintaining your Choice Skateboard 99a wheels involves regular cleaning and inspection. Wipe away dirt and debris that may accumulate on the wheels, and check for signs of wear such as flat spots. Rotating your wheels periodically can also help ensure even wear, maintaining performance and longevity. Regular maintenance will help you enjoy a smoother ride and better overall performance.
