When it comes to installation, the transducer needs to be mounted to the boat transom or shooting thru hull attached with duct seal. The 20 ft cable to the transducer is sufficient for most boats as it can be used with a 12V battery. Although some customers have complained about the transducer not connecting, Garmin has generally stood behind their products. Despite this, most customers are happy with their purchase and describe it as a good, reliable, and relatively affordable unit.
