The Smith - The Traditions And Lore Of An Ancient Craft is a book filled with interesting folklore about blacksmithing history. Some customers found the book to be a bit pricey and small, but highly recommend it. However, several customers had problems with the printing quality, with more than a dozen pages being printed with the binder side margin cutting off the text, making the book difficult, if not impossible, to read. Despite this, they found some of the stories interesting, such as the sources of fuel used over the years. The book lacks any accompanying photographs. Overall, The Smith offers a look into the rich history and myths of blacksmithing, making it a worthwhile read for those interested in the topic. However, the printing quality issues may deter some readers.
