Jet Bar Clamps JT9-70412 Editorial Review

The JET 12-Inch Woodworking Parallel Clamp (Model 70412) has garnered significant praise from users, particularly among seasoned woodworkers who appreciate the reliability and sturdiness this tool offers. Users report that these clamps far surpass competing brands, such as Bessey clamps, in performance and design. One notable feature that stands out is the clamp’s ability to maintain jaw parallelism more effectively than its competitors. Users have highlighted the ease with which the jaws move when disengaged, facilitated by a lever mechanism that allows for quick adjustments. This contrasts sharply with other clamps that are often difficult to maneuver when completely unscrewed, requiring more effort and two-handed operation. Enhancements such as a precision-rule measurement system for Consistent setup, along with non-marring composite jaw faces, further add to the utility of these clamps. The ability to convert them into spreaders and their secure locking mechanism, which prevents unwanted jaw movement, showcases thoughtful engineering that appeals to users creating intricate woodworking projects. Nevertheless, some users have noted issues with quality control, mentioning inConsistencies in jaw alignment and adjustment difficulty after repeated use. While the clamps are designed to offer Considerable pressure, there have been occasional reports of handles breaking upon impact, indicating that caution is warranted when handling these tools. Despite these drawbacks, many users are willing to overlook such issues for the clamps’ strength and reliability, expressing intentions to replenish their collection with more JET products in the future. Overall, the JET 12-Inch Parallel Clamp is recommended for its robust design and impressive performance, but potential buyers should remain mindful of the occasional quality control concerns. **
