The Zircon StudSensor i65 Center and Edge Finding Electronic Stud Finder is a highly recommended tool for anyone who needs to find a stud in a wall. It not only provides accurate information on the position of the stud, but it also tells you whether you are close to live wires in the wall. Its easy to use with one button and one hand. It is accurate with 100% acceptance in identifying the center and edge of the stud in standard drywall walls. The device comes pre-calibrated and the stud sensor is ready to use by placing it flat against the wall surface without requiring additional calibration every time it is used. The tool works with only one available 9-volt battery which is included in the package, requires no tools to open the battery compartment. The device's AC indications are not as accurate, and it does not recognize a dead wire. The presence of a heating duct will also cause the device to react oddly. On freshly painted surfaces, it might take up to a week for the tool to function correctly. It's highly recommended for any homeowner or occasional do-it-yourselfer who needs to hang any small or medium-sized picture frames or decorative items that require the support of a stud.
