The cable diameter is 3/8", and it is easy to install by inserting into the lock hole located at the back of the camera. Overall, this cable lock works great and is perfect for securing trail cams to trees. It is also very sturdy and easy to use. However, there was one customer who experienced rusting and lock mechanism corrosion after being rained on a few times. This issue was resolved with lubrication, but it's uncertain how long the cable lock will last.
