They can hold water, but the lids are not airtight, so they will fall off if the container is turned upside down with water in it. The base of the container can hold water without leaking. It comes in a pack of six, and while the clear plastic is not UV protective, it is strong enough to hold at least one filled mason jar. Customer feedback on this product has been mixed. Some customers have used it to store Stampin Up ink pads and found it to be a perfect fit. They appreciated the clear material, sturdy Construction, and square corners that helped keep the containers in place. However, some customers have reported that the lids are slightly warped, and each box has slight cracking. While this did not bother some customers, it may be an issue for others.
