Answer: Yes, it has easy-to-navigate menus and rich graphics, making it user-friendly. -

Can it be used for car travel, attached to a speaker?
Answer: It is a personal GPS device, I have used it in a vehicle but have had difficulty maintaining the link with the GPS sattellites. My unit does not have voice nor is it compatible with an external speaker. If you plan on using your GPS for travel I recommend you get a dedicated GPS built for that purpose. Some dedicated travel GPS systems also include free lifetime updates, something that this unit does not offer. -

I use a GPS in my boat for trolling. How well does this unit show speeds?? Does it show tenths or just mph in whole numbers?? Thanks
Answer: It does show mph, but I think it is in whole numbers. I use it for hiking, so I have never used that particular page. -

Answer: Yes unit was very hard to use screen is tiny and not touch screen my car garmin does coordinates and is way better -

Is the 310 MGRS capable?
Answer: If you are refering to the military grid reference system (MGRS) I believe the answer is no. Software determines the mapping gps interface, user interface and displays. Although you can buy additional mapping, I am not aware of any MGRS applications available for this model. -

I take long rides on my bicycle and sometimes get lost. Can I use this to stop that occurrence?
Answer: Yes, the Explorist 310 with the Summit Series Maps, zoom in and out, will display a tentlike cursor that should be labeled 'you are here!'...because you are in that location. Always have a main map and compass for more detailed reference or on the occasion that your battery fails. Use lithium cells for long life and turn off your unit when not in active use. The condition of being lost or confused is especially relevant to wooded areas or in landscapes that have no existing or visible reference points which is the case in forested areas or in uncooperative weather conditions....rain, fog, snow...where one does not know where to go or which road to follow. Hence the value of the Explorist 310 and 'you are here!'
