- 1970~80年代の障害者運動を牽引し、「否定されるいのち」の立場から健全者社会に鮮烈な批判を繰り広げた日本脳性マヒ者協会青い芝の会の「行動綱領」を起草、理論的支柱であった故・横田弘の思想と今日的な意義を探究する。と書くと、何やら堅苦しいですが、本書のポイントは、日本文学者である荒井裕樹さんが、過激とも称された「青い芝の会」(バスジャックまで展開した)の活動の中で、どうして横田さんが「行動綱領」(これまた強い言葉が並ぶ)を書かねばならなかったのか、どうしてこんな過激な内容になったのか、誰に向けて書いたものなのか、そうしたいくつもの「なぜ」を、これまでの横田さんとの関わりや資料・史料を通じて読み解いていくことにあります。2017年、「津久井やまゆり園事件」の直後に刊行されたオリジナル版に、いま〈共に生きる〉とはどういうことか、新たな論考を加えた増補新装版です。
