ZyXEL Wireless Access Point with AP / Universal Repeater / Client Mode [WAP3205V2]

The ZyXEL Wireless Access Point(WAP3205V2) offers average performance at an affordable price. The range as an access point is comparable to other wireless N access points, but it may be limited depending on factors such as the number and types of walls and the distance from the access point to the clients. It can also be used as a range extender/repeater to extend wireless coverage to areas outside the house. Setting up the ZyXEL WAP3205V2 is relatively easy and can be done through a web browser on both Windows and Mac systems. However, some users found the setup screens to be poorly designed and not user-friendly. The device supports client mode, allowing it to connect the Ethernet port of devices like a Vonage box to the WiFi network. However, it does not transmit a WiFi signal in client mode and must be connected to the device via a CAT-5 cable. One of the major drawbacks of this product is its poor range. Users reported struggling to get a strong signal beyond 20 feet, which can affect the speed and performance of devices connected to it. Additionally, some users experienced issues with the device malfunctioning after a few months of use. In summary, the ZyXEL Wireless Access Point(WAP3205V2) offers an affordable option for extending WiFi coverage, but its range may be limiting and there have been reports of reliability issues.
