Electro-Voice Vocal RE320 Editorial Review
The Electro-Voice RE320 microphone is notable for its solid Construction, excellent noise rejection, and patented Variable-D technology that eliminates the proximity effect. It produces excellent sound reproduction well-suited for male and female voices, and has a flatter response and lower price point compared to the RE-20. However, due to its low output signal, it is recommended to pair it with a strong preamp or an activator, such as a Cloudlifter or Fethead, and an audio interface. Users can also Consider purchasing a dbx 286s voice processor for real-time audio cleaning. Overall, the RE320 is highly recommended for those seeking a dynamic mic for voiceovers, live webinars, podcasts, etc., and are willing to invest in pairing equipment.
