Pflueger Rod & Reel Combos 1150786 Editorial Review
The Pflueger 8' Fly Kit Rod and Reel Combo is a great starter kit for fly fishing, according to customer reviews. The rod is made of three pieces of graphite carbon composite and has a real cork grip. The reel is mostly plastic but sturdy, albeit loud in terms of drag noise. The kit is priced affordably and comes with a L6F fly line but is recommended to upgrade to WF6F for easier casting and shootability. It performs well for the price point and the rod feels like a 7 weight even though it is meant for a 5-6 weight. The drag doesn't work as expected or doesn't work at all, according to some reviews. However, it is still a worthwhile purchase and a good starter kit for beginners or individuals who infrequently fish and don't want to spend money on a better combo.
