Vibra-Tite VC-3 Threadmate is a red glue-ish resin that is used to prevent machines screws from loosening due to vibrations. The threadlocker is suitable for firearms, woodworking, and metal-to-plastic applications. The product is based on acrylic resin methyl ethyl ketone, making it non-soluble in water and many solvents, and can even be applied under saltwater. Cleaning up can be done by peeling or picking it off, or using a small wire brush for hard-to-reach threads. The product's anti-vibration qualities make it suitable for use on machine screws and as a thread 'dam' for damaged threads. Unlike red Loctite, you can remove the Vibra-Tite-coated bolt two to three times without having to re-coat. It dries to a rubbery coating in the threads, making it resistant to high temperatures and difficult to remove, but if you use slow, constant, even pressure, it loses its adhesion and the screw comes out with ease. Customers who use Vibra-Tite VC-3 Threadmate on their firearms have found it effective at preventing screws from walking. They have also reported finding more and more uses for it around the shop, making it a versatile product.
